Over the course of a day students will work with Zhawi to create a sonic poem that draws connections between ideas in the current exhibitions and her artistic practice.
Zhawi’s poetry reflects the dialogue between multiple cultures and places. Her work explores Afro-diasporic research and narratives; focusing on memories of living in rural and urban Zimbabwe.
Sessions will run:
Tuesday 8 October: 10.30am - 2.45pm
Wednesday 9 October: 10.30am - 2.45pm
Thursday 10 October – 10.30am - 2.45pm
The workshops are free to state-funded schools in the Greater London area and for groups of up to 30 students, 10-15 years old (Years 6 – 10). Please note that we are only able to accommodate one school group at a time.
