Head of Finance

As the Head of Finance, you will hold overall responsibility for the financial management and control for the Trust and its subsidiary, including ensuring all regulatory reporting deadlines and compliance are met.  This is important as the Board of Trustees relies heavily on timely, accurate and well-presented financial information.  Reporting into the Chief Operating and Financial Officer, this is a hands on role where you will lead a team of 3 people and work closely with key senior management to support them with decision making support, financial analysis and the annual budgeting process.  The Head of Finance will maintain the existing quality levels, seek continuous improvements in systems and processes and work with the Chief Operating and Financial Offer to support the organisation through the next steps in its strategic planning.

Key responsibilities:

  • Overall day to day financial management for the organisation
  • Work with budget holders to deliver excellent management information
  • Lead on organisational budgeting and forecasting
  • Manage a finance team of 3 people
  • Ensure appropriate control and reporting for all grants and contracts
  • Produce year-end financial statements and lead on the annual audit process in co-ordination with the Senior Financial Accountant
  • Work with the Chief Financial and Operating Officer on ad hoc project work to improve the overall running and efficiency of the organisation.

You will be a CCAB qualified accountant that has experience of leading and developing a team and working directly with senior stakeholders.  This role will require you to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines and you will need to provide evidence of this during the interview process.  This role presents a unique challenge for someone that has a passion for our vision and a desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment.  Applications from all sectors are welcomed.
